Next Meets:
*June 11, 2011 - All Comers Meet
*June 18, 2011 - Lake Marion at Plantations

Joe Flaherty will host a free stroke clinic at Lake Marion pool on Saturday, Sept. 4th.  This is a chance to see what sort of opportunities there are for winter swimming, or just try out a practice with Joe.  You are not obligated in any way by participating in the clinic.  It will be broken into two sessions:
Session 1: 1-2pm - Older and more experienced swimmers
    Session 2: 2:15-3 - Younger and/or less experienced swimmers
If you plan to attend but have not RSVP'd, please send Kristine Frohman an e-mail to let her know which swimmers will be attending.  There's plenty of room for everyone interested.

The season is officially over so anyone who has discovered they really like swimming should be considering the possibility of some kind of winter swim  program.  There is a range of programs available, so look for the list we will be posting.  Both our Girls 200m Open Medley Relay (Shannon Haughey, Julie Mstowski, Alicia Nelson and Hannah Nelson) and our Boys 200m 11-12 Medley Relay (Greg Afolabi-Brown, Kenny Afolabi-Brown, David Domalski and Matthew Frohman)  placed 8th in their events at All-Star Relays and had good swims.  Congratulations to them all!

There was plenty of young talent on display in the pool at Sunday's Popsicle Meet.  Our littlest swimmers all managed to make it across the pool in the lap lanes in their various events, mostly without any help.  Everyone was treated to popsicles and ribbons afterwards and commended for their efforts!

The Lasers swam hard at divisionals, dropping time in about 70% of swims - that is a fantastic way to end the season.  Despite the oppressive heat, the Lasers stayed cool with all the tents, water and everything else that was on hand.  Our girls open medley relay defended their time and title, cementing their spot at All-Star Relays next weekend.  This is one of four relays that is up for grabs until divisionals, unlike the rest of the relays swum at the Relay Carnival.  Although Tally Ho placed first in the meet today, Mohican is the division champion this year, with Tally Ho in 2nd and Woodcliffe in 3rd, followed by Glenwood, Tanterra and Lake Marion.

The Lasers certainly seemed to dominate the Flower Hill Dolphins at their pool on Wednesday night.  Once again, our swimmers proved their dedication and hard work ar epaying off by swimming many more best times of the season.  Many of our younger swimmers made their swimming debut at this meet and we could see that they will be a force to contend with in the future!  All of our swimmers have worked very hard this season and we  salute their accomplishments.  We also thank the parents who have helped at all the meets, especially through the heat of this stinkin' hot summer!

Our annual Parents Night Out was a lovely evening in the LMCC activity room, complete with candles and twinkling lights for a festive atmosphere.  This evening is designed for our parents to get together, enjoy each other's company, get to know each other a little better and have a relaxing time without having to do any work!  Jina Tirrell did a great job putting this together for us and if you missed out, make sure you put it on your calendar for next year!

Our calendar page is pretty empty right now - but check back periodically in the off-season for updated information.

We will have Laser spirit wear for sale at registration and at the pool again next season!

Our photo pages have photos from most of our meets, divisionals, Lasermania events and the raft & splash celebration from 2009.  Photos from previous years can also be accessed.  Picture copies can be ordered directly from Kodak EasyShare Gallery.

Please read the team handbook, which is available online by clicking the link at left that says "Handbook."  It's not long; you can read it in about 10 minutes.  You may find that many of your questions are addressed there, and it would definitely be helpful to you to download a copy.
