Weather reminders: Practice is cancelled ONLY if it is thundering or lightning.  If it is just raining, we still swim.  Since we are all in the same neighborhood, if it's thundering at your house, it's thundering at the pool.  If it WAS thundering half an hour before your practice, but it stopped, we will swim.  If it was thundering 15 minutes before your practice but it stopped, we will swim the rest of the practice.
The policy for meets is DIFFERENT.  If we have a meet scheduled and it is raining, thundering, lightning or whatever, report to the pool (home or away) at the regular time.  We will sit and try to wait out the weather.  If it clears and the referee and reps deem it to be safe, we will swim the meet.  We will need everyone to be at the pool when the decision is made so that we can start right away - especially if is later than our normal start time.  Keep in mind for away meets that it might be thundering here, but not necessarily where we are going.  Meets are never cancelled ahead of time.  The decision whether to swim or not is made on the pool deck by the referee and team reps.  We always want to swim if possible because it is so difficult to re-schedule a meet.
